A man accused of shooting another man during a home invasion in Waynesburg turned himself into authorities in Tennessee on Sunday night, police said.

Cody D. Jannenga, 21, of Piney Flats, Tennessee, is facing attempted homicide and other charges for allegedly shooting Johnathan C. Fannon at 53 S. Morris St. at about 10 p.m. March 26.

“He walked himself into the (Sullivan County) Sherriff’s Office and turned himself in,” said Waynesburg Borough Police Officer Thomas Ankrom.

He said police and the Greene County District Attorney are arranging extradition from Texas. He said he does not believe Jannenga is fighting extradition.

“I haven’t heard that he’s going to argue with it, and I can’t imagine he would since he turned himself in,” he said.

He is facing charges related to a domestic altercation in Tennessee, Ankrom said.

Jannenga’s alleged co-conspirator, Kody Alan Scott, 21, of Waynesburg, was arrested March 27.

Fannon was found by police lying outside the patio of his home with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper thigh. His neighbor’s girlfriend, Stacey Wheaton, was attempting to stop the bleeding.

Fannon and his girlfriend, Brandi Stump, arrived home shortly beforehand with their 16-month-old daughter, Jade Fannon. Stump told police several people were outside at the time. Someone knocked on the glass door, and she pulled back the curtains to see Jannenga, who allegedly pointed a gun at her, saying, “I want everything. Give me everything.”

A second person, later identified as Scott, came around the corner and walked inside. Fannon handed Stump the baby before fighting both men, as Stump reportedly locked herself in her room with the baby.

Fannon reportedly told police he fought over a weapon, which he described as an assault weapon he believed to be fake. Jannenga allegedly shot him from behind with a pistol. Fannon reported Jannenga was also armed with brass knuckles. The men later allegedly took some pills and left.

Jannenga is charged with criminal attempt to commit homicide, theft, aggravated assault, and three counts each of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery

Scott is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 2:30 p.m. Friday before Magisterial District Judge D. Glenn Bates. He is charged with three counts each of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery and one count each of conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and theft. He is lodged in Greene County Prison in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
