Ruth E. Phillips
Ruth E. Phillips, 75, of Spraggs, passed away peacefully in her home Sunday, April 22, 2018, surrounded by her loving family, after a lengthy illness.
Born June 18, 1942, in Bobtown, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Elsie “Marie” Nestor Pratt.
Ruth was an amazing and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She had worked as a certified nursing assistant in Curry Home, Waynesburg, and was a hard working employee who was respected by her co-workers.
On June 19, 1961, she married Kenneth E. Phillips in Maryland. Together, they raised five wonderful children. Surviving, in addition to her husband of 56 years, are her four sons, Kenneth E. (Linda) Phillips Jr., Thomas R. (Janet) Phillips, Michael T. Phillips and Bradley M. Phillips; daughter Lynn Ann Phillips; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Faye Pratt and brother Edward Pratt.
Deceased are brothers Calvin, Robert, Wayne, Dale, Charles and Bob Pratt, and sisters Ellweena Blouir and Margaret Pratt.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, Wednesday, April 25, in Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, with the Rev. Carl Kibbler officiating. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held in Carmichaels Veterans of Foreign Wars.
