FREE DINNER – A community dinner will be held in the Rogersville United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Friday, April 27 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The meal will include choice of chicken or ham, homemade noodles, vegetable, applesauce, dessert and beverage. ART SHOW – Carmichaels Area High School will host its sixth annual Art Show on Friday, April 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. Over 200 original works will be exhibited including ceramics, sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking and mixed media.
PRAYER VIGIL – An interdenominational prayer vigil for the fight against the ongoing drug/alcohol epidemic will be held on Saturday, April 28 at 9 a.m. at the following locations: Carmichaels Square, the Greene County Courthouse steps and the Rogersville Park pavilion. The purpose is to bring churches and community members together to walk through Greene County and pray for the areas hardest hit by the epidemic. BOOKS NEEDED – The Central Greene School District Relay for Life Team is in need of book donations for its annual Book Sale and Reading Extravaganza. Please drop off all book donations to WCHS Mondays through Fridays between 3 and 5 p.m. Please do not drop off any donations on Saturday or Sunday. Please follow the posted signs to the drop-off area at WCHS. The Book Sale is on April 28 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at WCHS. All proceeds will go the American Cancer Society.
KIDS FEST – The first annual Kids Fest will be held on Saturday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Greene County Fairgrounds. State Rep. Pam Snyder is sponsoring the family event, which will feature games, pet adoptions, car seat tutorials, STEM and OSMO demonstrations, self-defense sessions and information about government programs. At 1 p.m., Snyder is the featured attraction at a reading corner, where each child will receive a free book. Snyder’s staff and the Greene County Human Services Agency also will be available to assist constituents.
NEW YORK TRIP – Nathanael Greene CDC will be sponsoring a three-day trip to New York City on May 3. Participants will be staying at the Manhattan at Times Square Hotel on 7th Avenue. OLDIES DANCE – An “Oldies Dance” featuring music of the 50’s & 60’s will be held on Saturday, May 5 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Center Township Fire Hall in Rogersville, with DJ Steve Barrett. PET EVENT – Pittsburgh PetConnections will be hosting their annual PETCON 2018 Pet and Equine Expo June 9-10 at the Greene County Fairgrounds. There will be adoptable pets, a pet costume contest, exhibitors, dog agility demos, horse demos, giveaways, kids’ activities, food, entertainment, a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. Proceeds from the 50/50 and silent auction will benefit the Humane Society of Greene County. General Admission is $8. BENEFIT EVENT – Greene County Walk to End Alzheimer’s will hold its annual Benefit Car and Motorcycle show on Sunday, June 17 from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Carmichaels Area High School baseball field. Free admission for spectators. Vehicle entry fee is $15 for pre-registration, $20 on the day of the event. Registration begins at 10 a.m. There will be dash plaques to the first 50 cars, as well as awards for People’s Choice, Best Motorcycle, Best Purple Car, Oldest Car, Longest Distance Traveled and more. All vehicles and all makes and models are welcome. Other activities will include a 5/50 raffle, a Chinese auction, food, children’s activities, door prizes, vendors. music and more. YOGA CLASSES – “Yoga for Beginners” classes with Crista Turner are held Saturday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Vine Room at Thistlethwaite Vineyards. Learn the fundamentals of Yoga through gentle stretching and simple poses. Build strength, improve balance, align the body and quiet the mind by creating an overall sense of well-being. Cost is $10 per class and mats are provided.

QUILT RAFFLE – The Waynesburg Senior Center will be raffling off a Williamsburg embroidered queen size quilt. Tickets are $2 each and the drawing will be on Friday, May 11. The quilt is hand quilted by the quilters at the senior center. Call 724-627-6366 to purchase tickets.

4-H CLUB – The Greene County 4-H Engineering and Robotics Club meets at the Flenniken Public Library in Carmichaels on the second and fourth Mondays of each month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. This club is open to all children in Greene County ages 8 to 18. Call the library at 724-966-5263 for more details.
CAMP CODE – Visit the Flenniken Public Library in Carmichaels on the first and third Saturdays of the month for Camp Code. This class is for children ages 5-8 to learn coding. The one-hour classes begin at 11 a.m. Participants will dive into PBS Kids Scratch Jr. and have fun discovering new ways to solve problems that PBS characters get into. COLORING PROGRAM – The Eva K. Bowlby Library in Waynesburg is presenting “Color Outside the Lines,” a program for adults who may be interested in the latest craze of adult coloring books. Coloring books are not just for children. The process of coloring has been shown to be stress-reducing, calm-inducing and joy-producing, for people of all ages. The library will provide coloring sheets and supplies to get you started. Join the library weekly every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or from 6 to 8 p.m. at the library.
CRAFT NIGHTS – The Bowlby Library’s monthly Adult Craft Night is held on the first Thursday of each month and the second Saturday each month. Seating is limited; call the library at 724-627-9776 to sign up or stop by the circulation desk.
WEIGHT SUPPORT – T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a weight management support group that meets every Saturday at the Bowlby Library from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. New members are always welcome.
