Local students inducted into academic honor society
Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, inducted 43 students – including several from Greene County – into Pi Sigma Phi, the campus honors society, in a ceremony attended by friends and family on April 16.
Eligible students earned a grade-point average of at least 3.5 and completed at least thirty credits of coursework.
Founded in 1987, Pi Sigma Phi promotes and encourages “higher standards of learning and high scholastic attainment.”
“It takes more than the mere ability to excel to be inducted,” said Dr. Danielle Mitchell, associate professor of English and associate chief academic officer. “It takes commitment, willingness to work hard, and the drive to do it over and over. We celebrate that academic spirit today.”
Pi Sigma Phi 2018 Inductees from Greene County are: Emily Blaker of Dilliner (Psychology), Makenna Kramer of Jefferson (Business Administration) and Kaitlyn Reagan of Jefferson (Psychology).
