Helen Anna Barbor
Helen Anna Barbor, 77, of Rices Landing (Dry Tavern), died Friday, August 3, 2018, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.
She was born May 21, 1941, in Dry Tavern, a daughter of the late John and Anna O’Brochta Cwierz.
Mrs. Barbor graduated from Waynesburg College with a degree in business education and earned a master’s degree in business education from Indiana State College.
She taught at Jefferson-Morgan High School, Robert Morris University, St. Mary of the Mount and was director of secretarial science at Waynesburg College for 11 years.
Surviving is her husband of 49 years, Selden Barbor.
Selden and Helen lived on Mt. Washington, Pittsburgh, for two years before returning to Dry Tavern to the home Selden designed for his bride.
She was a longtime member of Town and Country Garden Club and scholarship chairman for 25 years.
Mrs. Barbor was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church in Rices Landing.
A vigil of family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Rices Landing, with Father John M. Bauer as celebrant. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
