MEMBERSHIP MEETING – The Warrior Trail is holding its public pot luck membership meeting on August 16 at 6:30 p.m. JoAnne Marshall from the Greene County Tourism Bureau will be the guest speaker. The meeting will be held at the Warrior Trail headquarters located in the red brick school house in Fordyce, 1346 Garards Fort Road, Waynesburg. For more information contact Frank at 724-998-1386.

LIBRARY CLOSED – The Flenniken Public Library will be closed on Friday, August 17th for off-site staff training. We will be open Saturday, August 18th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

BOOK SALE – Stop in at the Flenniken Public Library anytime Monday, August 20 through September 1 to browse the Friends of the Library’s used book sale. New and used hardcover novels, paperbacks, cookbooks, movies on DVD and VHS-there’s something for everyone. Proceeds help support the Library’s mission.

LIBRARY NIGHT – It’s Library Night at the Washington Wild Things on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 6:05 p.m. If you forgot to purchase tickets in advance, you can buy your ticket at the gate, then stop by the library table to enter a special drawing.

YARD SALE – The annual town-wide yard sale will be held in Rogersville on Saturday, September 1, 2018 starting at 8 a.m. The Center Twp. VFD Auxiliary will sell food & drinks beginning at 9:00 a.m. Table space available inside the fire hall for $10/table or in the parking lot – $5/table, on a first come-first served basis. The Auxiliary will accept donations of “sellable” items prior to that date. To reserve table space, donate items or for additional information, call 724-833-0180 or 724-499-5385.

KNITTING CLUB – The Bowlby Library’s Knitting Club meets twice a month on the second and fourth Fridays. All skill levels are welcome. Call the library at 724-627-9776 for more info.

COLORING CLUB – The Flenniken Public Library in Carmichaels hosts its Coloring Club for Adults on the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. Colored pencils and coloring sheets are available, but those attending are welcome to bring their own. For more info, call the library at 724-966-5263.

4-H CLUB – The Greene County 4-H Engineering and Robotics Club meets at the Flenniken Public Library in Carmichaels on the second and fourth Mondays of each month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. This club is open to all children in Greene County ages 8 to 18. Call the library at 724-966-5263 for more details.

CAMP CODE – Visit the Flenniken Public Library in Carmichaels on the first and third Saturdays of the month for Camp Code. This class is for children ages 5-8 to learn coding. The one-hour classes begin at 11 a.m. Participants will dive into PBS Kids Scratch Jr. and have fun discovering new ways to solve problems that PBS characters get into. This class is limited to 10 students. Call the library to register at 724-966-5263.

COLORING PROGRAM – The Eva K. Bowlby Library in Waynesburg is presenting “Color Outside the Lines,” a program for adults who may be interested in the latest craze of adult coloring books. Coloring books are not just for children. The process of coloring has been shown to be stress-reducing, calm-inducing and joy-producing, for people of all ages. The library will provide coloring sheets and supplies to get you started. Join the library weekly every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or from 6 to 8 p.m. at the library.

CRAFT NIGHTS – The Bowlby Library’s monthly Adult Craft Night is held on the first Thursday of each month and the second Saturday each month. Seating is limited; call the library at 724-627-9776 to sign up or stop by the circulation desk.

WEIGHT SUPPORT – T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a weight management support group that meets every Saturday at the Bowlby Library from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. New members are always welcome.

DINNER FUNDRAISER – Flenniken Library will be holding the annual dinner fundraiser on Saturday, November 3, 2018, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Carmichaels Fire Hall. Join us in sampling the wares of local wineries and distilleries. Dance the Bunny Hop while our DJ Spins the tunes of the 1950’s. Prizes will be given for best 1950’s era outfits and dance contests. We will have a Chinese Auction, 50/50, and door prizes. Dinner will be provided. Tickets are $30 per person. Tickets go on sale at the library on September 4, 2018, or stop by our table at the Coal Show, August 20-22. For more details call the library at 724-966-5263.
