Lady Raiders close season with 40-35 win

Waynesburg Central held a slim advantage throughout the Section 2-AAA finale, holding on for a 40-35 victory Thursday at Brownsville.

The Lady Raiders close the season at 3-9 in the section and 6-15 overall. Brownsville (2-10, 5-16) finishes the season Monday when it travels to Chartiers-Houston.

Waynesburg led 9-6, 14-10 and 27-22 at the quarter breaks.

Waynesburg’s Rachel Elsenheimer and Brownsville’s Alexis Carson shared game-scoring honors with 11 points apiece.
