Flenniken Library announces upcoming events
The Flenniken Public Library in Carmichaels has released its schedule of events for March.
n A Dr. Seuss birthday party will be held at the library on Saturday, March 3, from 1 to 3 p.m. Games, crafts and snacks will be provided.
n Clifford’s Great Easter Egg Hunt will be held at noon on Saturday, March 24. Join Clifford the Big Red Dog as participants hunt for eggs, enjoy crafts and play games. Prizes will be given. Cost is $5 per child. Call the library for more details at 724-966-5253.
n Adult Book Club meets at 6 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month.
n Crafternoons meets from 3:30 to 5 p.m. every Thursday. It is open to school-aged children. Drop in for a weekly craft project, free of charge.
n Flenniken Makerspace Club meets from 6 to 7 p.m. every Thursday. The club is open to children in grades 3 to 8.
n Camp Code is held from 11 a.m. to noon the second and fourth Saturdays, February through April. It is open to children ages 5 to 10. Learn coding through with PBS Kids Scratch Jr. made possible by EQT Foundation: Inquire Within, and a grant from the Community Foundation of Greene County.
n Elementary Reading Competition Book Club meets from 6 to 7 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesday.
n Greene County 4H Engineering and Robotics Club meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays.
n Adult Coloring group meets at 5:30 p.m. the third Tuesday.
n Middle School Reading Competition Book Club meets from 6 to 7 p.m. the last Wednesday.
n Save the Date – On Saturday, Nov. 3, Flenniken Library will hold its annual fundraising dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Carmichaels Fire Hall. This year’s theme is a 1950s sock hop. Tickets will be available on Oct. 1. Costumes depicting the 1950s are encouraged. A prize will be given for the best costume. There also will be a 50/50 raffle and Chinese auction.
