Elaine H. Wood
Elaine H. Wood, 86, of Waynesburg, died at 4:18 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, due to injuries sustained from a fall at home.
She was born Thursday, January 22, 1931 in Carmichaels, a daughter of the late Evan Hart and Mary Emma Mt. Joy Hart.
She was a lifelong resident of Greene County. She was a member of the Oakview United Methodist Church in Waynesburg. She enjoyed square-dancing, spending time with her dogs and cat and was an avid bird feeder.
She worked as a secretary for the Central Greene School District for many years, and later worked the front desk for Greene County Career Link.
She is survived by her one daughter, Autumn Joanne Wood Laskody and husband Randy of Waynesburg; three granddaughters, Carly Kahl, Megan Granata and Elaine Wood; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Catherine Hart of Carmichaels and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are one son, Robert G. Wood Jr.; one sister, Louise Mark and her former husband, Robert “Scopy” Wood Sr.
Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the time of service on Monday, January 8, 2018 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, Owner/Director, 197 N. Maiden St., Waynesburg, with Rev. Susan Hoover officiating. Burial will be in Greene Co. Memorial Park, Morgan Twp.
