Betty Jane Benedict
Betty Jane Benedict, 94, of Washington, formerly of Waynesburg, died Saturday, January 20, 2018, in Washington.
She was born December 15, 1923, in Carmichaels, a daughter of the late Furman and Lucy Taylor Howard.
She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in Waynesburg.
On September 12, 1947, she married Ernest Benedict, who died March 30, 2000.
Left to cherish her memory are a niece Teresa Teagarden Emry of Washington; a great-nephew Zacari Teagarden of Washington; her caregiver, Mary Kirkland and her canine companion, Sophie.
Deceased are an infant daughter, Barbara Ann; two sisters, Alice Teagarden and Marie Fox and five brothers, Charles, Harold, David, Clarence and Allen Howard.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m., the hour of services, Wednesday, January 24, in Behm Funeral Home, 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, with the Rev. David Deagle officiating.
