James T. Stevens, 98 of Waynesburg, died at 2:52 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in University Hospital Geauga Medical Center, Chardon, Ohio.

He was born Saturday, February 7, 1920 in Washington, a son of the late Steve Stevens and Alma Mae Dagg Stevens.

He belonged to the Purple Heart Organization, and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II in the 77th Infantry.

He was a plumber for many years and enjoyed spending time with family, boating and camping. He supported St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital with his wife for many years. He loved spending time with his dog Cody. He also loved water skiing and roller skating whenever he was able.

His wife, Evelyn Mae Stevens, whom he married in 1969, died December 27, 2016.

Surviving are one daughter, Kim Dulaney of Pittsburgh; three sons, James T. (Alison) Stevens II of Richeyville, Brandon (Kylee) Stevens of Washington and Terry (Judy) Stevens of Washington and one grandson, Mark (Erica) Stevens of Bentleyville.

Deceased is one daughter, Sharon Leonard and one sister, Jane Grimm.

Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the time of service on Friday, July 13, 2018 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, Owner/Director, 197 N. Maiden St., Waynesburg, with Pastor Scott Chambers officiating. Burial will be in Oakmont Cemetery, Waynesburg. Graveside Military Rites to be accorded by the James Farrell American Legion Post #330 and representatives of the US Army.
