Charles “Mike” Foley
Charles “Mike” Foley, 63 of Mt. Morris, died at 12:47 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia after a brief illness.
He was born Sunday, April 24, 1955 in Waynesburg, a son of the late David D. Foley and Stella A. Kesner Foley.
Mr. Foley lived his entire life in Greene County. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lippencott, where he taught Sunday School, was a Sunday School Superintendent, served as a Deacon and was the all around handyman and cook at many church events. Mr. Foley enjoyed hunting, fishing and civil war reenacting. He was a member of the 140th PA Volunteers reenactment unit.
For 42 years, he worked primarily as a carpenter in the physical plant at West Virginia University.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Kay Edgar Foley whom he married on March 6, 1974.
Also surviving are two daughters, Cassandra Foley of Waynesburg and Jennifer Foley of Morgantown; one son, Daniel Foley of Mt. Morris; two grandsons, Cameron and Damian Gump of Waynesburg; one sister, Sharon (Kenny) Tennant of Carmichaels and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are one sister, Patsy and three brothers, Sonny, Don and Jerry.
Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, Owner/Director, 324 Mt. Morris Road, Mt. Morris. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Nick Bardo and Rev. William Parker officiating. Burial will be in Blacksville Cemetery, Blacksville, West Virginia.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Camp Carmel, 660 Camp Carmel Road, Dunbar, PA. 15431.
