Clark, Riggenbach shut down Waynesburg, 3-0

Gage Clark and Dalton Riggenbach combined on a 5-hit shutout Monday night to lead Jefferson-Morgan to a 3-0 victory over visiting Waynesburg in Fayette American Legion Baseball League action.

Clark started and went five innings for the win. He allowed five hits with three walks and seven strikeouts. Riggenbach pitched the final two innings, striking out four and walking only one.

Jefferson-Morgan scored one in the bottom of the first.

The home team doubled its lead on Joey Reed’s RBI single in the bottom of the second and added an insurance on Tyler Zelenick’s RBI single in the bottom of the fifth.

Hunter Bowen had two hits for Jefferson-Morgan (1-1) and Zach Gamble scored a pair of runs.

Austin Clark and Cullen Hoone combined to keep the Carmichaels offense at bay Tuesday night, as the duo pitched Bill’s Bit Service to a 2-1 Fayette County Baseball League victory on the road.

Clark allowed a game-tying run in the bottom of the first and then pitched four scoreless innings for the win. He allowed four hits with four strikeouts and three walks.

Hoone pitched the final two innings to pick up the save. He allowed one hit, one walk and struck out two.

Wyatt Rishel’s ground out brought Robbie Shea home in the top of the fourth inning for what became the winning run.

Shea and Carmichaels’ Wes Bristor both doubled for the only extra-base hits of the game.

Bill’s Bit Service goes to 1-0 with the victory, while the Copperheads are 1-1.
