Soccer Camp to be held
The annual MAGIC Goals Soccer Camp will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. June 12, 15, 19 and 22 at the Carmichaels Area High School Soccer Field.
This free camp is for youngsters ages 6 to16. The goal of the camp is not only to teach and enhance soccer skills, but to encourage team building and leadership skills, as well as promote self-esteem among youth.
The camp provides a positive alternative activity for the summer months.
Each day of the camp will feature a speaker to educate the participants about healthy behavior choices, such as nutrition and tobacco prevention.
MAGIC Goals is a collaborative effort with support from the Greene County commissioners, community volunteers and agencies such as Greene County Human Services Program, Beacon Health Options, the CARE Center, Greene County Probation, Greene County MAGIC Collaborative, Greene County Early Intervention Program, Greene County Drug and Alcohol Program and Greene County Child Care Information Services.
The MAGIC collaborative consists of a steering committee and community teams. The purpose of the collaborative is to create an integrated, coordinated community/family based service delivery system to meet the health, education and community needs of Greene County residents.
