Roy E. Hall

Roy E. Hall, 77, formerly of Brave, passed away February 15, 2018, in his home in Tomball, Texas, after a lengthy illness.

He was born December 9, 1940, in Spraggs, a son of Roy C. and Nellie M. Hall, who preceded him in death.

He earned the honor of Eagle Scout as a young man and was a 1959 graduate of Waynesburg High School. He then went on to attend Moody Bible Institute and became one of Moody’s department directors. He later moved to the San Diego and Los Angeles area with World Impact, a Christian ministry, working and living in impoverished areas. After these experiences, he worked as an insurance claims investigator, both independently and through his own agency.

He had many interests, including getting a pilot’s license and flying small planes, fishing, golf and building a home on Lake Conroe, Texas. He was proud of his volunteer work and served as a past president of the Citizens Police Academy Association for Precinct 4, in Tomball.

He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 40 years, Penny; three daughters, Melani, Kathryn and Marla; a half brother, Thomas Lloyd Hall; a sister, Sandra Mitchell (Robert E.) and a brother, Russell Hall (Linda), all of Pennsylvania. When he married Penny, her children became his own. Surviving are Troy Ellis (Ann) of Maryland, Tamoni Onan (Laura Mathews) of Memphis, Tennessee, Timera Thornton (Robert) of Tomball and Kristopher Ellis of Tomball. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, deceased are a son, Jeffrey, and a half brother, Chester W. Hall.

Private arrangements were handled by Claire Brothers Funeral Home, 7901 Hillcroft Street, Houston, Texas.
