Lady Pioneers hold on for 4-2 win over Carmichaels

West Greene held off a late Carmichaels rally Wednesday afternoon for a 4-2 home victory in Section 2-A softball action. 

The Lady Pioneers (9-1, 13-3) led 1-0 after the first inning on Madison Lampe’s home run. The home team increased the advantage to 2-0 after five innings, on Madison Lampe’s sacrifice fly, and 4-0 at the end of six innings. Lexi Mooney and Mackenzie Carpenter drove in the last two runs.

Carmichaels (7-4, 10-6) scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Jade Renner allowed eight hits with seven strikeouts and no walks. She also had a double.

Gina Ranieri and Shelbee McCann doubled for the Lady Mikes. Kylie Sinn took the loss, striking out three and walking three.
