West Greene earned a share of the Section 2-A softball title Tuesday afternoon with a 9-0 victory at Jefferson-Morgan.

The Lady Pioneers (15-4) finished tied with Monessen atop the section standings at 11-1. The Lady Rockets slipped to 3-8 in the section and 4-8 overall.

West Greene scored single runs in the first and seventh innings. The Lady Pioneers plated three runs in the top of the third and four more in the top of the fourth.

Madison Renner and Lexie Mooney belted home runs for the Lady Pioneers. McKenna Lampe and Jade Renner doubled, with Jade Renner finishing with three hits.

Starting pitcher Jade Renner struck out 11 and had no walks in five innings. Madison Renner pitched the final two innings, striking out three.

The Rockets’ Cait Dugan allowed eight hits, with three walks and one strikeout in the loss.
