PennDOT announces ongoing work projects in Greene County

The state Department of Transportation recently announced the following work projects that are currently ongoing in Greene County.

The Greene County work projects that were tentatively scheduled to begin on May 7 include:

n Bridge maintenance in Morgan Township;

n Bridge flushing on various bridges throughout eastern Greene County;

n Spray patching potholes on Interstate 79 in various townships;

n Shoulder cutting and grading on various routes in Monongahela, Greene and Cumberland townships;

n Drainage issues on various routes throughout the county;

n Line painting on I-79 in Whiteley Township;

n Litter and debris pick up on I-79 in Washington Township;

n Slide repairs on Wayne Township and Route 21 in Richhill Township; and

n Slide/debris removal in Perry Township.

All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.

PennDOT has a 24-hour toll free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. This number can also be used to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).
