Senior LIFE Greene announces new medical staff members
WAYNESBURG – Dr. Ediri Montoya and Joanne Lewis, CRNP, have recently joined the medical staff at Senior LIFE Greene.
Senior LIFE is a provider of the LIFE Program in Pennsylvania. LIFE stands for Living Independence for the Elderly.
The LIFE Program, which is funded by Medicare and Medicaid, brings together a coordinated team of doctors, nurses, social workers and therapists to provide seniors 55 and older with an individualized care plan and coordinated health and personal care services that help them to remain independent and live in their homes and communities.
There are no co-pays and no costs for services in a LIFE Program for Medicaid-eligible seniors who have ACCESS and live in the community.
Montoya received her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining the Senior LIFE medical team, she served as staff physician at many notable healthcare providers, including St. Clair Hospital Urgent Care in Bethel Park and Washington Hospital Urgent Care.
Lewis received her master’s in nursing from Duquesne University. She has served as a registered nurse for UPMC and a nursing supervisor for Uniontown Hospital. Adding to her experience, she has also served as a nurse practitioner for Montgomery Medical.
Greene County seniors who have both Medicare and Medicaid, or are receiving long term services through Medicaid were recently enrolled into the States new health plan, Community HealthChoices.
Those affected by the change had the option to choose from one of three state-approved managed care organizations or select the LIFE Program as an alternative choice.
LIFE is the only option that seamlessly coordinates both Medicare and Medicaid services for its participants. There is no cost to enroll in Senior LIFE for seniors 55 years of age or older.
Senior LIFE Greene is located at 100 Evergreene Drive, Waynesburg.
The LIFE program came to Greene County in 2010. Today, Senior LIFE serves 286 seniors in Washington and Greene counties.
To be eligible for Senior LIFE services, seniors must be 55 years of age or older and reside in an area serviced by Senior LIFE. There is no cost to enroll.
