Trojans secure share of section title

California secured a share of the Tri-County South Conference title Friday night with 35-0 victory over visiting Mapletown.

The Trojans improve to 6-1 in the conference and 6-4 overall. The Maples end the season with a conference mark of 0-7 and overall record of 0-10.

Five different players scored a touchdown for California.

Cochise Ryan opened the scoring at 7:09 of the first quarter on a 9-yard touchdown run. Jelani Stafford covered 14 yards for a rushing touchdown at 3:26, and Jaedan Zuzak had a 27-yard rushing touchdown at 3:14.

Matt Trunzo hit all three extra points.

Lucas Qualk scored the lone touchdown of the second quarter on a 24-yard run with 1:26 left in the half.

Malik Ramsey closed the scoring when he returned the opening kickoff of the second half 67 yards for a touchdown.
