Elizabeth (Betty) Klimek Putila
Elizabeth (Betty) Klimek Putila, age 90, of Carmichaels, died Thursday, September 27, 2018 in her home.
Mrs. Putila was born March 30, in Thompson #2, Fayette County, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Kois Klimek.
On July 29, 1950 Betty married Francis S. Putila Sr., who died in 2012.
Betty is survived by four children, Frank Putila, Jr. (Karen), of Charleston S.C., Maribeth Fugozzotto (Sam), of Uniontown, Joseph Putila Sr. (Patty), of Carmichaels; six grandchildren, Matthew Putila (Jodi), Ann Manning (William), Dr. Joe Putila Jr, Derek Putila (Siara), Peter Putila, and Michael Putila; five great-grandchildren, Liam Manning, Leah, Carissa, Niko and Nicholas Putila; a sister, Stella Sertich, of Carmichaels and two brothers, Bill Klimek, of Geneva, Ohio, and John Klimek, of Carmichaels and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are three brothers, Gerald, Joseph, Walter Klimek, and a sister Patricia.
A few thoughts from her children: Betty was a wonderful caretaker of her family, friends and neighbors.
She loved cooking and baking. Holupkis, perogies, and nut rolls were her specialty.
She enjoyed gardening and raising her own flowers.
Betty especially loved her grand and great grandchildren. Betty will be dearly missed.
She was a fantastic mom, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She was a member of St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, the Altar-Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of America.

Friends will be received in the Paul M. Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Ave., Carmichaels on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 2 to 8 p.m., Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. when a prayer service will be held at the Funeral Home followed by a funeral Mass At 11 a.m. at St. Hugh Church, Carmichael,. with Reverend Francis Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Crucible.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Hugh Church.
