COMMUNITY DINNER – Rogersville United Methodist Church (Fellowship Hall) is hosting a community dinner, Friday, March 29, 5 – 6:30 p.m. The meal will include choice of Fish or creamed chicken sandwich, macaroni & cheese, vegetable, dessert & beverage. VETERAN’S DAY COMMEMORATION – On Mar. 29 at the VFD Post 4793, 445 East Lincoln Street in Waynesburg, at 6 p.m. there will be a commemoration ceremony for veterans and respective families who served all over the world, alongside the Post 4793, followed by a social with food and refreshments. Visitors can also view photos of the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall, which was on display in Greene County in 2017.
FAIRALL UMC BUCKWHEAT CAKE AND SAUSAGE SUPPER – beginning at 5 pm, Saturday, March 30. The menu will include all you can eat buckwheat cakes, regular pancakes, whole hog sausage, applesauce and beverage. Donations accepted. Everyone is welcome. Take outs available. EASTER CRAFT CLASSES – The Greene County Department of Recreation will be conducting two Easter craft classes on Sunday, March 31, one for children and one for adults. The children’s class will be in 4-H building upstairs at 2 p.m. and costs $25. The adult Easter class will be at 3 p.m. in the downstairs of the 4-H building and cost $35. CHICKEN AND BISCUIT MEAL – Kent’s Chapel UMC and the Brave charge is hosting a cream chicken and biscuit meal at the Blacksville Senior Center in Blacksville, W.Va. on March 31. Doors open at 11 a.m. and the meal will be served until 2 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children under 10 years old, and comes with cream chicken, a biscuit, mashed potatoes, vegetables, a drink and dessert.
SENIOR MONDAYS AT BOWLBY – Monday, April 1st, 10:30 a.m. – noon. The theme is Gardening. Participants will be planting some seed starters, putting together a quick spring craft, plus a light lunch. Senior Mondays are the first Monday of every month!

TEA PARTY – The Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club will meet on Thursday, April 4, at 6 p.m. in the Carmichaels Methodist Church Fellowship Hall for the club’s annual, “Rose’s Tea Party.” Entertainment will be provided by “The Musical Mikes,” a choral group from the Carmichaels Elementary Center, under the direction of Erin Drury. All members are encouraged to attend this meeting and bring a guest. New members are welcome.
YOUTH FISHING DAY – Waynesburg’s Sportsmen’s Association is hosting its Spring Youth Fishing Day on April 6 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at its private pond, 190 Rolling Meadows Rd., Waynesburg. Participants must be 15 years old or younger and accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. A picnic will be provided, but kids must bring their own fishing gear. FINE FORGIVENESS WEEK – During National Library Week (April 7-13) the Bowlby Library is offering fine forgiveness to currently checked out materials that may be overdue! Check your shelves, in the kitchen cabinets, under the bed, or the doghouse for any overdue materials that need returned!

ALL ABOUT ALPACAS & NEEDLE FELT CRAFT – Tuesday, April 9, 5-7 p.m. Join us for a hands-on presentation of alpaca fiber. After the demo on alpaca fiber, we’ll be felting an alpaca figure with the guidance of local alpaca farm owner Lena Galing. Kit cost is $12; for adults and teens ages 14 & up.

ANNUAL POETRY COMPETITION – With the month of April being National Poetry Month, Bowlby Library is inviting patrons/citizens to participate by submitting original poems beginning Monday, March 25 through Saturday, April 13. The competition will be broken down into the following categories:

BOOK CLUB – Flenniken Library offers an Elementary and Middle School reading competition book club on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 6-7 p.m.

COLORING PROGRAM – The Eva K. Bowlby Library in Waynesburg is presenting “Color Outside the Lines,” a program for adults who may be interested in the latest craze of adult coloring books. Coloring books are not just for children. The process of coloring has been shown to be stress-reducing, calm-inducing and joy-producing, for people of all ages. The library will provide coloring sheets and supplies to get you started. Join the library weekly every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or from 6 to 8 p.m.
WEIGHT SUPPORT – T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is a weight management support group that meets every Saturday at the Bowlby Library from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. New members are always welcome.
