All six miners have been released from the hospital after an underground accident at the Harvey Mine Monday night.

The last of six miners who received medical attention after an underground accident at the Harvey Mine Monday night has been released from the hospital, according to a statement sent out by mine owner Core Natural Resources said Wednesday.

All of the miners were taken to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment after an incident involving a pressurized water hose, which occurred shortly before 11 p.m. Monday. All but one had been treated and released by Tuesday morning.

The Department of Environmental Protection said Tuesday it was continuing to investigate the incident.

The longwall coal mine is located along Patterson Creek Road outside of Sycamore. Development began in 2009 for the mine, which was officially dedicated in 2014.
