OPEN HOUSE – The Greene County Historical Society Museum will present its annual Christmas Open House on Sunday, Dec. 5, from 3 to 7 p.m. both days. The public is invited to walk through the rooms decorated for Christmas in past fashions and enjoy light refreshments alongside a visit with Santa Claus. OPEN HOUSE – Waynesburg Prosperous & Beautiful invites the public to welcome the holiday season with the 13th annual Holiday Open House in downtown Waynesburg from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3. The night will kick off the holiday shopping season complete with wagon rides, activities and a traditional tree lighting ceremony.

REVERSE PARADE – The annual Greene County Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4. There will be marching bands, floats, fire trucks and an appearance by Santa. The parade will be held at the county fairgrounds in “reverse” fashion, which means that all units, instead of moving along the route, will be stationary and spectators will drive through the route to view the units on display. Spectators will be instructed to tune into WANB Radio 105.1 FM to listen to a dedicated parade live broadcast, featuring Christmas music and parade announcements beginning at 2 p.m. and concluding at 4 p.m. For more info, visit www.greenechamber.org.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA – The Greene County Dept. of Recreation is presenting its annual "Breakfast with Santa" on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the county fairgrounds. The event will feature a pancake and sausage breakfast and a free photo with Santa. Cost is $8 per person. For more info, call 724-852-5323.

CRAFT SHOW – The 17th annual Musical Mikes Holiday Craft Show will be held at Carmichaels Elementary School on Sunday, Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show will feature all handmade items from local crafters, concerts, a Chinese auction and concessions. Free admission. Proceeds will benefit the Carmichaels Elementary Music Program.

BLOOD DRIVE – The Greene County Farm Bureau will hold a Community Blood Drive in honor of Al Deynzer on Sunday, Dec. 5 at the Greene County Fairgrounds from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. To make an appointment, visit www.vitalant.org or call 412-209-7000.

OPEN HOUSE – The public is invited to the Bowlby Library’s Holiday Open House on Wednesday, Dec. 8, from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Patrons are encouraged to submit their holiday cookie orders from Willow Tree Farm online at www.evakbowlby.org. Deadline to order is Nov. 26. Enter the Cookie Raffle, Children’s Toy Basket Raffle, Photos with Santa and Door Prize. Children will enjoy Holiday Story Time and Pictures with Santa. Raffle tickets are currently being sold for $1 each or 6 tickets for $5. Sponsored by Friends of the Bowlby Library.

TEA PARTY – Kathryn’s Victorian Venue, located at 694 E. High St. in Waynesburg, will host a Christmas Tea Party. Enjoy delicious holiday teas with finger sandwiches, salads, scones, and desserts. Make sure to wear your tea time attire, with your favorite hat and gloves. If you do not have any, enjoy some of ours. This event is $25 per person, and reservation only. HOLIDAY LECTURE – The Lions Club Community Building, located at E Oakview Drive in Waynesburg, will host a special lecture titled “Ghosts of Christmas Past” on Saturday, Dec. 11, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Join author and instructor, Ron Murphy, for a look at some of our most beloved Christmas traditions, their origins and how they have remained popular for generations. Admission is $10, and proceeds will benefit The Flenniken Public Library in Carmichaels. FRIENDS SHARING GRIEF – The Bowlby Library hosts a grief support group meeting every Monday evening at 6 p.m. This is a support group for those who are struggling with the loss of an important person in their life. This group provides a safe environment for you to begin the healing process by sharing your deepest thoughts and feelings with other grievers. Call 724-627-9776 for more information.

SUPPORT MEETINGS – Steps Inside, Inc., located at 1790 Morris St. in Waynesburg, coordinates weekly recovery and support meetings for AA, NA and Al-Anon groups. These meetings are open to the public.
