HUNTER-TRAPPER CLASS - On Aug. 17 from 9-5 at the 4-H building at the county fairgrounds. Prior to attending a class, you must complete online independent study which will take approximately 4 hours. SCHOOL CLOTHING DRIVE - First Baptist Church of Waynesburg is hosting its annual School Clothes Distribution on August 17 from 9 to 11 a.m. Doors open at 8:30 for registration. Haircuts and gently used clothing are available for free. New items can be purchased at extreme discounts. No proof of income required. It is a community event that serves Greene County area children in need of school clothing to start the year.

ANNUAL ZOO TRIP - Saturday, August 17. From 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Enjoy a day with the family at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium with Bowlby! Ages 2 & younger are free; older children/adults is a $15 admission. Pack a lunch or purchase food at the zoo. Transportation cost is included in admission price.

UFO/PARANORMAL SESSION - Monday, August 19 with Fred Saluga, 5-6:45 p.m. Returning to the Bowlby Libray by popular demand! Saluga started researching UFOs, Bigfoot and other paranormal phenomena in 70’s while a police officer. He is the Pennsylvania & West Virginia MUFON State Director and coordinator of the entity research project. Created and runs the following groups: West Virginia Center for Unexplained events, Fayette County Pennsylvania Bigfoot Research Group. Developed and instructed the following groups at The Eastern Gateway Community College, Steubenville, Ohio: Cryptozoology, Ufology, Conspiracy Theories. Free & Open to the Public.

AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING - The Family Literacy Department at the Bowlby Public Library offers FREE After School tutoring and homework help for grades K-12. The literacy department also offers free test preparation for the GED, Civil Service exams, Drivers Licensing and Life skills. ADULT SUMMER READING - The Bowlby Library invites adults to the library this summer for the "A Universe of Stories" adult summer reading program. We will explore the wonders of our universe and learn about the solar system. NASHVILLE TRIP - Nathanael Greene CDC is planning a 4-day trip to Nashville on October 2th-6th. Pick up will be in Fayette and Greene County and Morgantown starting at 5 a.m. Cost is $1,100 dbl. per person, which includes lodging, transportation, four shows, four breakfasts, three lunches and one dinner. COLORING PROGRAM - The Eva K. Bowlby Library in Waynesburg is presenting "Color Outside the Lines," a program for adults who may be interested in the latest craze of adult coloring books. Coloring books are not just for children. The process of coloring has been shown to be stress-reducing, calm-inducing and joy-producing, for people of all ages.
