The Knights of Columbus, St. Ann Chapter in Waynesburg, recently made the first of two annual $1,000 scholarship awards. The recipients are Zachary Cesa, who is pursing a degree in petroleum and gas engineering at West Virginia University; and Veronica Klein, who will be pursing a degree in history at West Virginia University. The Greater Purpose Team Ministry made up of six United Methodist Churches located in Jefferson, Rices Landing, Fredericktown, Denbo, Howe, and Roscoe worked together to assemble 100 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child through Samaritan's Purse. By working together the churches were able to increase what they did last year by 38 boxes.
