June 22 was a momentous day in 1949 when Charles Baily and Elinor Hoffman tied the knot. It took on even more significance in 2019 as the couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

Surrounded by dozens of family members and friends on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Greene County Country Club, the site of their original wedding reception, the wonderful celebration was capped off by a dance to their favorite song.

After very full careers, Chuck in insurance and banking, and Elinor as an RN and ultimately a stay-at-home mom managing the lives of their five children, they are enjoying retirement in the Washington area.

They have also been kept busy by their 11 grandchildren, and 28 (and counting) great-grandchildren.

Their love, life together and generosity are a true testament to the commitment two people make when they say, “I do.”
