On April 23, Harveys-Aleppo Grange #1444 hosted its 2019 membership awards ceremony. The following are the awards and awardees:
2019 Community Citizen Award: John "Buzz" Walters for his continued annual work with the Tri-County Leathernecks' Toys-for-Tots Christmas toy drive, leading the Pledge of Allegiance at commissioners' meetings and court hearings, and involvement in multiple community organizations. He is also spearheading the restoration of the Crouse Schoolhouse, through his involvement in the Greene County Historical Society. He owns and operates Walters Takedown Tire Shop in Rogersville.
60 Years Membership Award: Robert D. Dinsmore, a fourth-generation granger with joined Harveys-Aleppo Grange on Nov. 20, 1959, following his Charter membership in the juvenile grange. Her and his wife own and operate Ceresville New Hollan Farm Equipment and Sheepmand Supply in Frederick, Md.
50 Years "Golden Sheaf" Membership Award: Mary L. Finch, who joined East Franklin Grange #1709 on Feb. 28, 1969, before transferring to Harveys-Aleppo. She's served as an officer at three granges and was a member of the Greene County Pomona Grange Fifth Degree Team. She's retired from McCracken Pharmacy in Waynesburg.
2018 PA State Grange Sixth Degree Award: Rebecca and Ronald Davis received the Degree of Flora, the sixth of seven degrees of membership in the Patrons of Husbandry, at the 2018 PA Grange Convention in October.
National Grange Distinguished Grange Award: Wayne Campbell, master/president of the PA State Grange.
5 Year Membership Award: Ronald L. Davis, joined April 4, 2014. Carol Sue Fuller, joined June 9, 2014.
