Waynesburg police have charged two men with rape of a child after both reportedly admitted to having sex with a 12-year-old Spraggs girl last year.
Morgan Elias Hunt, 19, of 109 Saw Mill Road, Waynesburg and Timothy Allen Temple, 18, of 51.5 S. Porter St., Waynesburg each also face several other charges related to the alleged sexual assault.
Police Chief Robert J. Toth wrote in a complaint that the girl's mother brought her to police in December, after the child, now 13, started cutting herself.
During a forensic interview, the girl said she had sex with Temple and Hunt, police said.
Both men were 18 at the time.
The girl told police she had consensual sex with Hunt twice. During an interview with police, Hunt reportedly admitted to engaging in a sex act with the girl when he knew she was 12, once at her home and once at an abandoned house, according to the complaint.
The alleged victim told police that she had sex with Temple at an abandoned house, according to the complaint.
During an interview earlier this month, Temple reportedly told police that he did have consensual sex with the girl, but "did not remember much due to being intoxicated," the complaint indicated.
He also acknowledged that he knew the girl was 12 at the time, police said.
Hunt and Temple face one count each of rape of a child and one count each of statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault and corruption of minors.
Hunt was charged with an additional count of rape of a child.
Hunt and Temple were arraigned Thursday before Magisterial District Judge Lou Dayich. Following arraignment, both suspects were placed in Greene County Jail in lieu of $25,000 straight bail.
Their preliminary hearings have been scheduled to be held before Dayich on March 5.
