2018-19 Girls of the Month

On May 6, the Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club honored the 2018-19 Girls of the Month at its annual spring dinner at the Carmichaels Grange in Carmichaels.

The Girls of the Month are members of the Carmichaels Area High School Class of 2019. Each student in attendance spoke about her future goals and where she plans to further her education.

Jonella Williamson, a musician and choir director from Waynesburg, was the dinner’s guest speaker.

From September to May, the Girls of the Month, and their future plans, are as follows:

n September-Alexandra Lavery, to attend Pitt-Greensburg and major in anthropology

n October-Britney Pollock, to attend Waynesburg University and major in English-secondary education

n November-Micaela Ricco, to attend Penn State-Fayette and major in business

n December-Meighan Spishock, to attend Penn State-Altoona and major in nursing,

n January-Shelbee McCann, to attend Slippery Rock University and major in psychology

n February-Emily Menhart, to attend Pittsburgh Technical College and major in baking and pastry arts

n March-Samantha Shaffer, to attend Slippery Rock University and major in biology

n April-Grace Kerr, to attend West Virginia University and major in biomedical engineering

n May-Morgan Henderson, to attend West Virginia University and major in psychology
