Charles D. Henderson

Charles D. Henderson, 77, of Waynesburg passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018 in his home surrounded by loved ones.

He was born April 9, 1941 in Waynesburg, a son of the late Darrel and Beatrice Hughes Henderson. He was raised by the late Allen and Helen Jacobs and June and the late Dick Shriver.

On August 27, 1960 he married Linda Patton Henderson who survives.

Mr. Henderson retired after working for 45 years as a mechanic. He worked for Park-Will Oldsmobile, Haney Olds and John Howard Motor, all in Waynesburg. He also worked for one year as a bricklayer’s helper during the construction of the Waynesburg fire hall.

He was a Methodist by faith and a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 461 in Waynesburg.

Chuck was a farmer at heart. He raised sheep and cattle and loved his Halflinger ponies. He enjoyed helping his kids and grandkids in all of their 4-H projects.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter Judy Nelson and husband Rex and a son Don Henderson and wife Gretchen, all of Waynesburg; five grandchildren, Melinda Ford and husband Rich, Dustin Henderson, Molly Cheek, Nick Nelson and wife Holly, and Tyler Nelson and wife Brooke and ten great-grandchildren, Kol, Aylah, Chloe, Camden, Louden, Lilly, Easton, Cooper, Hayden and Emmett.

He also leaves behind his pony, Prince and his beloved golden retriever, Kelsey.

Deceased in addition to his parents is a great-granddaughter, Stella Mae.

Friends will be received from 1 to 8 p.m., Sunday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 W. High St., Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, December 10, 2018 with Rev. William Parker officiating followed by interment in Fairall Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.behmfh.com.
