Leonard Albert Ankrom, 73, of Markleysburg, died Friday, April 12, 2019, in Select Specialty Hospital, Johnstown.

Born July 7, 1945, in West Waynesburg, he was a son of the late Thomas Albert and Betty Ward Ankrom. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Ed and one sister, Sue.

Mr. Ankrom was owner and operator for Ankrom's Carpet and Remodeling for over 40 years and a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a hard worker, who loved antiques and mountain dew and was a member of Turney-Riley Post 7250, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Confluence.

He is survived by one son, William (Tammy) Ankrom of Fort Hill; two daughters, Rebecca (Douglas) Fike of Somerset; Sarah (Jonathon) Ankrom of Markleysburg; four brothers, Wayne, Robert, Charles and Richard; four sisters, Sandy, Maxine, Donise and Brenda; three grandchildren, Kyle (Caitlyn) Fisher, Morgan and Thomas Fisher; and one great-granddaughter, Mia Fisher.

A committal service will be held Sunday, July 7, in Oakmont Cemetery, Waynesburg.

Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller Street, Grantsville, Md., is in charge of cremation arrangements.
