Cash register stolen

On Nov. 15 at approximately 11 pm an unidentified male entered the Sunoco gas station on East Roy Furman Highway in Franklin Township and stole the cash register while no one was standing at the storefront, State Police report. The suspect fled in an unknown direction. Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact State Police at (717) 783-5494.

Deer causes crash

David Klingensmith, 43, of Salem, OH was traveling southbound in the left lane of State Route 79, just north of exit 14, when a deer entered the lane from the median. Klingensmith struck the deer and came to a halt in the shoulder. Neither Klingensmith nor his 12-year-old passenger were transported or injured.

Mailbox hit and run

Between November 16 at 11 pm and November 17 at 8:30 am, an unknown driver was traveling west on Kirby Road in Whiteley Township when they crossed into the oncoming traffic lane, exited the roadway and crashed into a mailbox and newspaper box. The driver then reentered the roadway and fled the scene, traveling west. A partial driver’s side mirror from a Ford vehicle and silver plastic pieces were found at the scene, State Police report.
