Simple assault

Jason Allen Toland, 26, of N. Factory St., Clarksville, was charged by state police with simple assault ON June 30 after he allegedly pushed an unidentified male to the ground and struck him in the face multiple times in Clarksville Borough.

Drug charges

State police charged a Beaver Falls man with possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Smith Creek Road in Franklin Township at 11:30 p.m. ON July 21. Christopher Moore, 30, was also charged with driving with a suspended license and unauthorized use or transfer of registration.

Insurance fraud

State police charged two people living at 8 Dunkard Terrace, Dunkard Township, with insurance fraud following a car crash May 5 on Interstate 68 in West Virginia. Police said Jessee Lee Moats, 24, was involved in the crash and he, along with Jenna Anne Obrad, 24, reported to both state police and Geico Insurance Co. that their vehicle had been stolen.

Money stolen

State police are investigating the theft of cash from a vending machine on July 18 at the Kirby Welcome Center off Interstate 79 in Whiteley Township. Police said someone opened an unlocked machine and stole approximately $80 between midnight and 4 a.m. Police ask anyone with information to contact them at 724-627-6151.
