Car fire

State police said on Dec. 29, at a little after 7 a.m., Joseph Gabeletto, 22, of Masontown was traveling west on Roy Furman Highway in Jefferson near Spotted Pony Rd. when he crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a car traveling in the opposite direction, causing the two cars to spin out. Police said the second car caught fire and eventually became fully engulfed in flames. No one was injured.

Harassment

State police charged a 45-year-old man in Aleppo with harassment after he assaulted a woman, 41, on Dec. 27 at 10 p.m.

Lost control

On Dec. 31 at around 11 p.m., Praveen Namburi, 38, of Sewickley, PA, was driving on I-79 South near the Exit 7 marker in Whitely Township when he lost control of his vehicle and drove off the highway into the right shoulder, state police said. The car went up the exit ramp, striking a guide rail, then spun around and hit the rail a second time before coming to a stop on the exit ramp’s shoulder. Namburi had three passengers: Anuharika Chakka, 32, of Sewickley, and two children, ages 7 and 3. No one was injured.

Reckless Endangerment

State police said Richard Georgiana, 49, of Carmichaels was driving 94 mph down East Roy Furman in Cumberland Township on Dec. 24, 2018 at around 5:20 p.m. State police said he had four minors in the car and, after being pulled over, Georgiana was charged with reckless endangerment.
