The last time the Carmichaels Legion played Connellsville they gave up 16 runs in the sixth inning for a 24-0 loss.
Carmichaels slowed down Connellsville's offense Wednesday night, but the home team was shut down by Tanner Orndorff in a 4-0 loss in Fayette County American Legion Baseball League played.
Orndorff allowed just two hits in the complete-game victory, while striking out 14. He also had a pair of singles.
Connellsville's Luke Warrick had a double for the lone extra-base hit of the game.
Connellsville (5-2) scored twice in the top of the third inning, and single runs in the top of the fourth and sixth innings.
Carmichaels slips to 0-8.
Fayette County League
Carmichaels 11, Fayette Raiders 0, 5 innings -- The Copperheads scored 10 runs in the bottom of the second inning on its way to a shutout of the visiting Raiders in Fayette County Baseball League action.
Carmichaels improves to 6-1, while the Fayette Raiders even their mark at 3-3.
Tyler Reyes' two-run triple started the scoring in the bottom of the second inning. Chuck Gasti hit a two-run home run later in the inning to extend the lead to 5-0.
Carmichaels scored a solo run in the bottom of the fourth inning that eventually invoked the mercy rule.
Reyes just missed hitting for the cycle with a triple, double and single. He finished with four RBI and scored three runs.
Joby Lapkowicz went the distance for the win, allowing just two hits with 11 strikeouts and one walk. He also had a triple and single.
Cole Naylor started and took the loss for the Raiders.
