An auto body shop in Connellsville was destroyed after an early morning fire on Sunday.

Multiple fire crews responded to a call for a commercial structure fire at 1004 Morrell Ave. in Connellsville at around 5:20 a.m.

According to New Haven Hose Company Fire Chief Bob Topper, the structure was fully involved and the roof collapsing when firefighters arrived on scene.

Fire officials suspect the fire started in the back garage of Ed Vincent Auto Body repair shop. No injuries were reported.

The fire marshal was unable to determine the cause of the fire because of the extent of the damage, said Topper.

Volunteer fire companies from New Haven, South Connellsville, Connellsville and Dunbar Township, along with Fayette EMS responded to the fire.

The insurance company will conduct a follow-up investigation.
