Meters damaged
While on patrol at 12:55 a.m. Wednesday, city police officers noticed that two parking meters at the intersection of Peter and Arch streets were damaged.

Two cited
William Yanecko, 53, of 43 Mifflin Ave. and Calvin Keith Bryant, 48, of 29 Wilson Ave., both of Uniontown, were cited for public drunkenness after they allegedly were found staggering on Cleveland Avenue at 10:54 p.m. Tuesday, city police said.

Tools confiscated
City police confiscated a silver Craftsman lawn mower, a green Weed Eater Feather Light Plus and a green Weed Eater from a man walking on Varndell Street at 1:52 a.m. Wednesday after the man couldn’t tell police where he obtained the items.
The owner can claim the items by calling police at 430-2929.

Money taken
Donald Lynch Sr. of 119 Gallatin Ave. told city police that $350 was taken from his pants while he was sleeping in his apartment.
Lynch, who discovered the theft at 7 p.m. Tuesday, said someone known to him was in the apartment when he fell asleep.

Tires slashed
Elaine Muha of Lenox Street told city police at 6:39 p.m. Tuesday that tires were slashed on her vehicle.

Two hurt in crash
Allyson Marta Nehls, 17, of Uniontown and her passenger, Mandy Yanosky of Uniontown, were treated at Uniontown Hospital after a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of McClellandtown Road and Evergreen Terrace at 2:27 p.m. Tuesday, city police said.

Graffiti was written on the Uniontown Fire Hall on Dunbar Street sometime Monday night, city police said.

Police investigate
A young white woman with blond hair and a young white man with brown hair allegedly duped clerks at two gas stations Tuesday night.
The two went into the A-Plus Mini Mart on Morgantown Street and asked for cash in exchange for two rolls of quarters, police said. After the pair left, the cashier noticed that the rolls contained two quarters on the outside and pennies on the inside.
An identical report was made at the Speedway on Morgantown Street as well. Police said the woman was wearing a white shirt and the man had a ring in his lip. Police are reviewing the surveillance videotapes of each incident.

Two charged
State police placed a 16-year-old male from Carmichaels in detention on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and underaged drinking after an incident Saturday at 311 Cumberland Village in Cumberland Township. Police also charged Kathy Metcalf, 48, of Carmichaels with hindering apprehension and disorderly conduct and she was arraigned before District Justice Neil Canan and released on $5,000 bond. Police alleged the juvenile got into a fight with Robert Metcalf Jr., 24, of Carmichaels around 2:20 a.m., threatening him with a kitchen knife. Police said the juvenile fled the Cumberland Village location but police took him into custody at a nearby baseball field after a brief foot chase. Police alleged Kathy Metcalf tried to stop them from apprehending the youth.

Marijuana seized
Jesus Lemus, 30, of Chambersburg was arraigned before District Justice Neil Canan on drug charges after a 10:09 p.m. Sunday incident in Monongahela Township. Canan set bail at $100,000 and Lemus was committed to Greene County Jail. State police said Lemus lost control of a vehicle along Route 88 and struck a utility pole. Police alleged Lemus removed a case from the vehicle and tried to hide it under a truck but police found approximately 20 pounds of suspected marijuana there.

Hit-and-run
State police said an elderly white male driving a cream-colored station wagon struck two unattended cars and a pedestrian as he backed out of a parking space at Pechin Shopping Village in Dunbar Township on March 20 around 1:28 p.m. . Police said Joseph Stanek, 80, of Mount Pleasant was the pedestrian. Police noted Stanek was not injured and the two unattended cars sustained minor damage.

Man charged
State police charged Michael John Thompson of 711 Front St. in Adah with public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief for an alleged incident that occurred Wednesday around 2:20 a.m. at the Eat ‘n Park restaurant along Route 40 in South Union Township. Police further alleged that Thompson kicked out the rear window of a police cruiser after he was placed in custody.
