Dorothy Ruth McGee Smiley Fisher, 85, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Monday, April 1, 2002, in The Marquis House, Uniontown. She was born April 15, 1916, in Scottdale, Pa., the daughter of Edgar I. McGee and Pearle Deyoe McGee.

She was the former owner of the Smiley Dental Laboratory, Uniontown.

Dorothy was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, a longtime Church Attendance Secretary, and loved playing the piano for many of the church’s organizations.

She graduated from the former Scottdale High School, Scottdale, Pa., in the Class of 1933.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, James P. Smiley, her second husband, Leroy Fisher, two brothers, Robert and Fred McGee, and her parents.

She is survived by one son, Edgar James Smiley and his wife, Deena, of Louisville, Kentucky; three daughters: Marilyn Kay Coughlin and her husband, Michael, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Linda Guttormson and her husband, Leslie, of Parkland, Florida, and Joanne McConnell and her husband, Jude, of Philippi, West Virginia; one brother, James E. McGee and his wife, Polly, of Hopwood, Pa.; one sister, Corinne Cottle of Pontiac, Michigan; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa.

Friends will be received in the Funeral Home today, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Service will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James P. Fogg officiating.

Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown.

The family requests that memorials may be made to United Methodist Women, c/o Asbury United Methodist Church, 20 Dunbar Street, Uniontown, PA 15401.

Visitation was also held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
