Steve Hromada
Steve Hromada, 86, of Republic, Pa., passed away Thursday, April 4, 2002, at his residence. He was born April 25, 1915, in Philips, Wisconsin, a son of John Hromada and Josephine Maron Hromada.
Steve was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Republic, United Mine Workers of America Local 6295, and retired form Isabella Mine after 37 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Sekulitch Hromada, in 1997, sisters, Catherine Capozzoli and Bernice Morella, brothers, Wendell, Joseph, and Thomas, and his parents.
Surviving are a son, Ronald Hromada of Hiller, Pa.; daughters: Sandra Sofocle of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Linda Zembar of New Salem, Pa.; two granddaughters: Carrie Ann Ross of Richeyville, Pa., and Marla Messenger of Merrittstown, Pa.; three great grandchildren: Christa and Haley Messenger and Benjamin Ross; a sister, Helen Tomasevich, and a brother, Ernest Hromada, both of Tower Hill One, Pa.
Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., Legion Street, Republic, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, April 8, until 9:30 a.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Republic, with Rev. Fr. Stephen Bugay as Celebrant.
Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
A Parish Wake Service will be held today at 8:00 p.m.
