James Gregory Grant
James Gregory Grant, 89, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away peacefully Saturday morning, April 6, 2002, in LaFayette Manor, Uniontown. He was born February 25, 1913, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of Gregory and Carmella Grant.
James was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, V. F.W Post 47, American Legion Post 51, and the Sons of Italy.
He was a World War II Veteran who served in the United States Army in North Africa and Italy.
James worked as a Tailor and had been a Bartender at the Uniontown V.F.W.
A sister, Ethel Campbell, and his parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joanna L. Casciotta Grant; his sister, Frances Zack of Uniontown; nephews and nieces: Joseph Zack and wife, Yoshiko, of Atwater, California, Dan Zack and wife, Marjorie, of Uniontown, Pa., Joe Guarano of wife, Judy, of Lancaster, Pa., and Nancy Hixenbaugh and her husband of Mentor, Oho; several great nieces and great nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, UNIONTOWN, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, April 9, until 9 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 9:30 a.m. in St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, Mill Street, Uniontown, with Rev. Fr. Patrick O’Connor as Celebrant.
Entombment will follow in Chapel of Memories Mausoleum, Sylvan Heights Cemetery, where Military Honors will be accorded by Uniontown V.F.W. Post 47.
Sons of Italy Lodge will conduct Services in the Funeral Home this evening at 8:30 p.m.
