Margaret Woods Walker
Margaret Woods Walker, 85, of Washington, Pa., and formerly of Brownsville, Pa., died on Saturday, April 6, 2002. She was born August 26, 1916, in Bessemer, Alabama, daughter of Jacob Woods and Emily Cobbs-Woods.
Margaret was a member of Temple of God Apostolic Church in Washington, Pa., and a former member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church in Brownsville, Pa.
She was a Homemaker.
Her husband, Kenneth Walker, two brothers, Jake Woods and Homer Woods, three sisters, Freda Foy, Fannie Lloyd, Ada McConnell, and her parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are six sons: Kenneth Walker and his wife, Mary, and the Reverend Clyde Walker and Mattye all of Detroit, Michigan, Charles Walker of Lansing, Michigan, Minister James Walker and his wife, Theresa, of Charleston, South Carolina, Reverend Thomas Walker and his wife, Beverly, of Decatur, Michigan, and Nathaniel Walker of Columbus, Ohio; four daughters: Louise Martin and her husband, Robert Martin, of Monessen, Pa., Evangelist Marva McClain and her husband, Ulis McClain, of Washington, Pa., Martha Davis and her husband, Herman Davis, of Detroit, Michigan, and the Reverend Loretta M. Williams and her husband, Buford Williams, of Antioch, California; 33 grandchildren; 67 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Margaret was the last member of her immediate family.
Visitation will be held in Temple of God Apostolic Church, 505 East Hallem Street, Washington, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, April 9, until 11 a.m., the hour of the Service. Officiating will be District Elder George Russell.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
