United in marriage were Rose M. Lutz of LaBelle and Gary C. Smith of Uniontown. The ceremony and reception took place Dec. 29 at the South Brownsville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Michael D. Chapman officiated.

The bride is the daughter of James W. Sr. and Opal Lutz of First Street, LaBelle. The bridegroom is the son of Clayton and Mary Ann Smith of Bethelboro Road, Uniontown.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore an ivory and gold gown with crocheted rose appliques. A pearl headpiece held a veil of illusion.

The bride graduated in 1979 from Brownsville area High School. She is employed at Super K-mart Center.

The bridegroom is a 1974 graduate of Laurel Highlands High School and is employed at Coolspring Stone and Supply.

Following a honeymoon to Williamsburg, Va., the couple is residing on Bunker Hill Road, New Salem.
