CALIFORNIA – A Millsboro woman died in a Monday morning traffic accident at the intersection of Malden Road and Third Street Extension. Elizabeth Broadwater, 51, of Mill Street died from multiple blunt force trauma, according to a release from the office of Washington County Coroner Timothy Warco. The manner of her death is still under investigation.

Police said the accident occurred at 9:28 a.m., when a vehicle driven by Susan Rudinsky, 50, of Bethel Park collided with a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire operated by Broadwater. Rudinsky was driving a 1999 Oldsmobile sport utility vehicle northbound on Malden Road when the accident occurred, police said.

The preliminary investigation indicated that Broadwater’s vehicle entered the road from the Route 43 northbound California exit and crossed into the path of the Oldsmobile, police said.

Both vehicles were severely damaged.

Deputy Washington County Coroner Tim Kagel pronounced Broadwater dead at the scene. Meanwhile, Rudinsky was taken to Brownsville General Hospital following the accident, police said.

State police are assisting in the ongoing investigation.

RESA, Centerville, East Bethlehem Twp., Brownsville Ambulance Service, California University and state police assisted borough police at the scene.
