Arnold Lee Jefferson
Arnold Lee (Googie) Jefferson, age 48, of Stone Mountain, Ga., and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Saturday, April 6, 2002, in East Side Medical Hospital, in Georgia. He was born May 17, 1953, in Uniontown, Pa., a son of the late Matthew and Jessie Jefferson.
He was a 1972 graduate of Laurel Highlands High School, a licensed journeyman of Local 27 for 25 years, and a lead singer with the group, “Classified.”
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Jordan; a brother Matthew; and a sister Karen Mickens.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly Jefferson; two sons Kristen Williams and Jarrad Davis, all of Georgia; one grandson, Kristen Jr., also of Georgia; four sisters, Lutrisha Braxton, Stella Jefferson and Jacqueline Hodge, all of Uniontown, and Anita Jones of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one brother, Anthony Jefferson of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother-in-law, Bruce Davis of Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Debra Shuff of Republic, and Kimberly Davis of Uniontown; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 E. Main St., Uniontown, Pa., today from 4 to 9 p.m., where services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Walter Cherry and the Rev. Michael Mickens, officiating.
Interment in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
