Benefit game planned

A benefit basketball game between State Troopers from the Belle Vernon barracks and members of the Pittsburgh Steelers will be held at Belle Vernon High School on 8 p.m. on May 3. All proceeds from the game will go to the state police “Gifts for Kids” program which provides Christmas gifts for underprivileged children in elementary schools in Fayette County.

The price of admission if $5 and tickets may be purchased in advance at the state police Belle Vernon station at 560 Circle Drive in Belle Vernon.

Police said the following businesses have donated prizes that will be raffled off during the game: Staples, Motordrome Speedway, Shane’s Bistro, Pittsburgh Zoo, Kennywood Park, Sandcastle, Idlewood Park, Eagles Landing Restaurant and Lounge and Holiday Inn.
