James E. Christopher
James E. Christopher, 85, of Uniontown, Pa., died Monday, April 8, 2002, after a lengthy illness. He was born Feb. 7, 1917, in Fairchance, Pa., a son of the late Earnest and Maude Price Christopher.
Also preceding him in death were his wife of 57 years, Florence Breakiron Christopher; two infant sisters, Ora and Cora Christopher; a sister Jennie Tanner; and six brothers, William, Frederick, Ray and Grant Christopher and Herbert and Harry Underwood.
Mr. Christopher was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Uniontown, Pa.
Surviving are his daughter, Nancy (Christopher) Stine and her husband, Harry Stine of Uniontown, with whom he resided; a son Ronald Christopher and his wife, Dolores of Brandon, Miss.; seven grandchildren, Robert Stine of Uniontown, Richard Stine of Brandon, Fla., Max Wayne Christopher of Melbourne, Fla., Sherri Lee (Christopher) Antun of Titusville, Fla., Robert Christopher of Jacksonville, Fla., Catherine (Christopher) Foster of Asheville, N.C., and Ronald James Christopher of Pearl, Miss.; two great grandchildren, Shane Antun and Dylan Christopher; and a brother, Kenneth Christopher of Alta Monte Springs, Fla.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 S. Mt. Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Thomas Whitehead officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
