Cruelty to animals

State police are investigating an incident in which someone cut off the tail and mane of a quarter horse that was in a field near a home on Kristy Lane in Connellsville on Monday.

The owner of the horse is Carrie F. Myers of Connellsville.

Public drunkenness

Jennilee Ross, 26, and David Zook, 26, both of Dunbar, were cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct for allegedly creating a disturbance along Broadway Avenue at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, state police said.

Criminal mischief

Sean E. Kaue, 19, of Monessen was cited for criminal mischief for an incident that occurred at a home on Clovertop Road at 7:45 p.m. Friday, state police said.

Kaue allegedly threw a rock through a window at the home of Samuel D. Warman, 63, of Markleysburg.

Dog found

State police at Belle Vernon found a black collie-type mixed breed female dog on Interstate 70, one mile west of the Speers Exit at 11:45 a.m. Monday.

The dog had on a red collar, but did not have any tags or a dog license.

Police said the owner can claim the dog by going to the Washington County Humane Society in Eighty-Four.

Capt. Roger N. Waters of State Police Troop B Washington has released the public information statistical report for March.

In crime activity, 812 offenses were reported, 807 of which were founded and 422 were cleared. Officers made 454 criminal arrests and went on 10 arson investigations.

Police recovered nine vehicles and the value of recovered property, including vehicles, was $113,000. In patrol activity, police responded to 541 accident, including 58 hit-and-run, six fatalities and 201 with injuries. Officers issued 4,175 traffic citations and 1,885 warning notices.

Police responded to 447 motorist assists and 2,791 other incidents for a total number of 4,591 incidents.

James Jordan of Lincoln Street reported to city police at 8:46 p.m. Monday that someone threw a rock through his window.

Monica Hetzler of Warden Street reported to city police at 8:05 p.m. Monday that the license plate was taken from her 1990 Chevrolet Corsica

The license plate number is END0968.

Garage damaged

William V. Kolar of Whiteman Avenue reported to city police that someone damaged his garage between 2:45 p.m. Sunday and 2:45 p.m. Monday.

Police said it appeared that someone used a BB gun to shoot several holes in the siding and broke a window.

A window on the side of a home on Evans Street was broken sometime Sunday night, city police said.

Assault alleged

Charges are pending against three juvenile males who allegedly assaulted a man on West Main Street at 9:42 p.m. Monday, city police said.

Kevin Bryte told police he was walking to his vehicle from Pizza Outlet to deliver a pizza when he was attacked. Police apprehended the three juveniles.

Incident investigated

City police are investigating an incident in which a Uniontown woman was allegedly assaulted by someone known to her over the weekend.

Terri Washington went to Uniontown Hospital on Monday for treatment of injuries she suffered following an assault. Washington had bruises on both legs, both arms and her left eye was swollen shut, police said.

Washington told police that someone known to her came to her home on Thursday and on Friday, threw things at her and hit her in the head and punched her. Washington said she was not permitted to leave her home until Monday morning, when she went to the hospital.

State police said someone entered a locked shed behind First Baptist Church in McClellandtown March 29 at 8:22 p.m. and took a riding lawn mower.

Minor injury

State police said Michael A. Gibbs of Uniontown lost control of his vehicle Sunday at 2:17 p.m. along a legislative route and struck a ditch.

Gibbs suffered a minor injury, police said.

Retail theft

State police said someone entered Staples on three occasions between March 30 and April 4 and took computer games and software from the store.

Criminal mischief

Donald Gmitter, 59, of Uniontown told state police someone pushed over his mailbox on Washington Street sometime Monday or Tuesday.

Aggravated assault

Edward George Russman Jr., 22, of Uniontown was arrested for aggravated assault following an incident on Coffey Street at Rich Home Improvements at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday, state police said.

Police said Russman went to the business and allegedly threatened Teann Maye Ebner, 22, of Uniontown with a baseball bat. Ebner drove from the parking lot onto Gallatin Avenue and police said Russman drove his vehicle into the back of Ebner’s vehicle three times.

Russman was arrested at his home and arraigned before District Justice Randy Abraham and placed in the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $50,000 cash bond.

Burglary

Ten firearms were taken from a home after it was broken into between 6:30 and 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, state police said.

The firearms included rifles and shotguns. The owner is John Lonce of Uniontown.

Public drunkenness

State police are investigating an incident in which an intoxicated Carmichaels man was found sleeping in the parking lot of Shop ‘N Save at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Criminal mischief

Juvenile charges were filed against a 16-year-old Grindstone youth for an incident that occurred on Frick Street in Hiller at 4 a.m. Tuesday, state police at Belle Vernon said.

The juvenile allegedly punctured a tire on a vehicle owned by Brett Arlen Miller, 40, of Hiller while it was parked in his driveway. Criminal mischief charges were filed in the office of District Justice Herbert G. Mitchell Jr.

Westmoreland County

Burglary

State police at Belle Vernon are investigating a burglary that occurred at two construction trailers at a construction site at the intersection of Route 981 and a legislative route in South Huntingdon Township sometime Monday or Tuesday.

Taken were several computers, a digital camera, a copy machine and various tools valued at $7,160. The owners are the state Department of Transportation and Gregori Construction and Engineering of Sarver.

City police are investigating an incident in which Gary Dandrea reported that he was assaulted at Esther’s Tavern on Austin Street at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Harvey H. Upton of Madison Avenue reported to city police at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday that his Quazar VCR and several VHS tapes were taken from his home sometime Tuesday.
