John J. Fisher
John J. “Jack” Fisher, 80, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away suddenly Sunday, April 14, 2002, in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born May 10, 1921, in Grays Landing, Fayette County, Pa., the son of William L. Fisher and Dorothy Cretin Fisher.
“Jack” was a member of St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and the Church Choir and had graduated from the former St. John High School on Jefferson Street in Uniontown.
Prior to retirement, he was Executive Vice President of the former Fayette Bank in Uniontown.
For 25 years he served as a member of Uniontown City Council.
“Jack” was a Veteran of the United States Army who served in World War II and attained the rank of Sergeant.
He was a member of General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 in Hopwood, Pa., B.P.O. Elks in Uniontown, and the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
He also was a Fourth Degree member of The Knights of Columbus.
His son, Bruce Fisher, brothers, Theodore and Robert, and parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Anna Marie Church Fisher; his loving children: John J. Fisher Jr. of Aurora, Colorado, Lawrence “Larry” Fisher and his wife, Carol, of Uniontown, Pa., Mary Dorothy Fisher White of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Timothy L. Fisher and his wife, Sherri, of Aurora, Colorado; grandchildren: Michael Fisher of Uniontown, Kimberly Fisher of Virginia, Danyell Lemly and her husband, Darrell, of North Carolina, and Kaitlyn Fisher of Colorado; great granddaughters: Rio Fisher and Marianna Lemly; a brother, Cretin L. Fisher of San Antonio, Texas; many nieces and nephews; a special friend, Leona Null; and his closest relatives, Mary Dee and Andrew “Bud” Caruso of Masontown, Pa.
The Family will receive Friends in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, UNIONTOWN, Pa., on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Additional arrangements will be announced.
