Daley aide to visit Donna Nicholson, a member of state Rep. Peter J. Daley’s staff, and a representative from the Treasury Department’s Bureau of Unclaimed Property will visit Center in the Woods on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to assist residents. Nicholson visits senior centers each month to help people with state-related concerns and give residents the opportunity to apply for property tax and rent rebates, apply for PACE prescription assistance, complete notary work and apply for handicap placards for vehicles. Using a laptop computer, the Treasury Department representative can instantly determine who can collect any of the $660 million in unclaimed property being held by the state. Common types of unclaimed property are inactive bank accounts, stocks or dividends, uncashed payroll or accounts payable checks, uncollected utility deposits, unredeemed gift certificates and safe deposit box contents.

Picnic scheduled

Comas Club Picnic will be held at Miedel’s Restaurant, 1701 Buttermore Blvd., Connellsville, on Thursday, April 18, at 6 p.m.
